Related: About this forumThe "In Cold Blood" murderers, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock, are being investigated in regard
to the late 1959 murders of the Walker family in Florida.
Capote mentioned the Walker family murders in ICB; at the time, it was concluded that Smith and Hickock were not the murderers.
Now that DNA testing is available, it will be interesting to find out for sure.

http://projects.heraldtribune.com/investigatewalker/walkermystery.htmlIn terms of the timeline, Dick and Perry are credible suspects. I know that they both passed the polygraphs, but the technology was even more unreliable than today, and the two were a psychopath and a borderline personality type. Perhaps, they stole the money that the Walkers were willing to pay for the car? If they are responsible, it seems that Dick carried through with his plans for Mrs Walker, where he did not do so with Nancy Clutter.
