I love J.A. Jance's Joanna Brady mysteries. I have to say, though, the marriages

in the series are--unusual.

Butch just seems too good to be true. But that's OK, it's nice to imagine there are some spouses like that.

Eleanor is such a controlling narcissist, why would Dr. George want to be married to her? Surely he could find a nicer woman.

I tried to get through one book and the characters were too unlikable.
