I'm just a bit more than half-way through it, and I'm totally in awe. This is the first time I've read any Gaiman, and I'm so glad I took the plunge.
It's so utterly beautiful and mythic, in exactly the way I most love mythic to be. I'm trying not rush through it, because I don't want it to be over...

(31,893 posts)When I first finished it, I meant to come back to this thread and say something more, but I found myself quite speechless.
I've just finished reading it for a second time, and my awe remains undimmed.
In my secret fantasies about writing a book, this would be the kind of book I would want to produce. But someone else has done it, and I can't imagine ever possibly coming even close.
My greatest hope now is that maybe someday Neil will give us a story about Lettie returning from the ocean - or maybe not, I honestly don't know.
