Related: About this forumI don't know about you but I'm so sick of serial killers in literature, movies, and TV, that
I'd write a story about somebody whose life purpose was to hunt out and extinguish serial killers, if I were not too lazy to write it.
If the idea appeals to you, take it and run with it.

(18,219 posts)won't you also have to be writing about serial killers....and won't that just keep this trend going?
Sounds like you have to shift gears on what you are reading if you don't want to run into serial killers at every turn.

Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds is an American police procedural TV show. The series follows a team of profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) based in Quantico, Virginia. They specialize in catching serial killers.
