man with four daughters is tired of hearing "oh, I'm so sorry".

‘Girl dad’ with four daughters reveals the one ‘worn out’ phrase he’s tired of hearing

“Every single time I go out, if I have my four daughters, they’ll come up to me, and they’ll be like, ‘oh, I’m so sorry,’” he said. “All my kids can speak and understand English. They know what you’re saying. It hurts their feelings.”

He went on to emphasise how much he enjoys being a father of daughters, before criticising those who say “I’m sorry” to him.

“I’m not sorry that I have daughters. I love being a girl dad. I love having girls,” he added. “The joke is old. It’s worn out. It’s not original. It’s not clever. It doesn’t even make a lot of sense.”

After Austin emphasised that he’s “so tired” of people telling him that they’re “sorry that [he] has daughters,” he shared another phrase he hears a lot because he’s a girl dad: “Make sure your shotgun is ready.”

He noted that when he asked people why they were saying sorry to him, they weren’t necessarily sure how to respond.

“If you ask them why, they immediately get very uncomfortable,” he said. “Why are you sorry? What are you getting at here? I actually had one person get mad at me one time for asking why. Don’t ask me silly goose questions, and I won’t give you silly goose questions.”

Now racists are fewer in number and racism is not normal the way it used to be. Still way too much racism, but it has been de-normalized.

Time to de-normalize misogyny.

Long past time.

I married the best of the four daughters, the second one. (The story goes they'd picked out a man's name for her, but had none planned for a daughter.)

My wife has an unusual last name, which we gave to both my sons as my last name is ridiculously common. I thought my father-in-law would be pleased to have "the family name" extended, but he was displeased. (He was displeased, at least for several years that his daughter married me at all, but that's another story.) He was first generation, from an "old world."

I always expected to have a daughter or two, but it didn't happen. I couldn't have cared less either way, but I'm proud of the men my sons became. I think they're both feminist men, more or less.

My brother-in-law wanted sons and had daughters; he got over it, and turned into a relatively happy dad.

He had six daughters.

And, we had 14 female cousins on Dad’s side-
NO boys.

All of my uncles were wonderful, loving, kind men who treated women as complete equals.

Link doesn’t work for me and I find this header and excerpt strange and unlikely.

I follow him on Facebook Reels. He posts mostly about life in the military, and he's really funny! The post about his daughters was a one-off that went viral I think.
