Related: About this forumToday, my wife and I for the first time in our lives have been ordered to
not leave the house, by our four daughters. They put their foot down, hard. I answered (after a long discussion)
with a weakly...ok

The sound went right through me.
B.Y.W., did anyone recognize Sting in the video?

(10,924 posts)My daughter is now sick with fatigue and a sore throat ...
Then my wife goes out to get her a sub at noon and pizza for dinner ... after I had stocked the shelves with at least five weeks of food they chose, food for during illness and medical supplies. And she won't take time off her job in a big shopping mall - we don't need the money and her other daughter - who is working from home now - is her boss who doesn't require her to work there.
Makes my head spin.

(10,924 posts)Wife's store is closing as is where my other daughter works. She's feeling fine today.
Maybe we dodged a bullet.
We have to get cat food and litter and can sit tight for five weeks.

(18,881 posts)Being there and being a good person who treats their wife and kids well makes a huge difference in a childs life. I wish more men realized how much being a good dad (and spouse) mattered and changes lives, making the world a better place.

(27,891 posts)We still have no identified cases in my county, so I'm comfortable doing quick errands, like dropping off taxes to my accountant. When I go to pick them up I'll tie that trip in with a stop to pick up whatever I think I might run out of, in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Then I'm hoping to just stay home and work in the yards and gardens.

(27,891 posts)41 out of the 54. There is one case that they have not geographically identified, as of yet.
I'm going to do a serious inventory of my pantry and see what should be put on a list to purchase. Hopefully by next week the stores will settle down. If not, I'll just make due with what I can get. I only eat two meals a day and I'm pretty clever when it comes to cooking.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
