27 Discounts Seniors Did Not Know They Could Get
February 2, 2018 Savings
There are many special discounts that are available to seniors. Retirees are offered discounts at most retailers, restaurants, parks and on public transport. But you wont get these discounts unless YOU ASK for them. Simply ask the question, Do you offer a senior discount? and see how much you can save.

(25,406 posts)My favorite market in town offers a 5% senior discount on Wednesdays, and a few weeks ago, the cashier serving me told me not to OK my payment until she could put in my discount. I laughed and said, well, part of being a senior is forgetting that you are one, and another part is forgetting it's Wednesday!

Me, too, sheshe2!
My sister and I recently went to see a movie in a theater. (I havent gone out for a movie in years)
When she got to the ticket window, she asked for a senior discount and got one. I was like, you can do that? This is something new to me.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
