I didn't get a .22 until I was about 18 or 19 and bought my own.
I was born in 1941.

I still have it. Spring loaded and it could shoot a BB all of 10 feet.

because he "would shoot his eye out". I quizzed my grandparents separately for confirmation and when I asked them why my dad couldn't have one they both said word for word and matter of factly, "He'd shoot his eye out". We still laugh over it.

What is "a compass, a stalk, and a thing which tells time"? I can't figure that out.

My dad told me about how he and his brothers would shot their BB guns at each other in little mini battles, which is probably why we never had any.
