July 14, 2025 Dear Abby led with a letter from a senior

Who is worried about Social Security and the future. Abby's reply stated that the writer wasn't the only one worried, cited some stats, and said we should all be writing reps to remind them we paid into the system and it's our money, and consequences if they forget. I was surprised and delighted. I think the column is still read by a huge number of people.

I read the column on UExpress

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
