Question for people getting regular Social Security

When you applied how long was it before you got your first payment? Me it's been two months and I still haven't got one.

1. If I remember correctly I applied in early May and got my first payment the second Wednesday of July.

2. Don't have recent experience, but I think you specify date to receive benefits on applicatio. So, you won't get anything

until then. I also believe though not positive, you won’t actually receive a payment until the following month.

If you are waiting for official approval, think that can take a few months. But one can check on-line (think it’s still working under trump).

received a confirmation in May telling me what my benefit would be & when to expect the first payment, which I received in July.

which was my target date for starting payments. I got my first check right on time, coinciding with that birthday. Sorry I can't be more help. I hope musk muddling around hasn't delayed things for you.

and they told me the date I would receive my 1st check, maybe a month out ? I think I opted for direct deposit then too. As it was they deposited it in the wrong account , their mistake , not mine .
I had to go back in and request the paperwork I had filled out and it showed my correct bank info . Someone keyed it in wrong . It was corrected quickly .

I’ve heard stories of some waiting 6 months which was a surprise to me.
