My oldest grandchild got their temp. permit today

I'm happy for the news and I hope they'll be a good driver. I wanted to share the news with other grandparents I know. I am surprised at how few people I know who might have kids but not grandkids.

was born. I wondered at the time if I’d be around to see milestones she would meet.
I’m 75 and she turned 16 earlier this year and also has a driver’s permit.
My wife of 51 years passed away in 2022. Sometimes it’s difficult to experience these accomplishments without her.
So I made it this far. Next one on the horizon is high school graduation and starting college.

My husband passed away in 2017 and the other set just a few years earlier. I told the kids right after my husband passed that I'd do all I can to be there for their h.s. graduations. My younger grandchild immediately asked, "What about when we graduate from college?" I have a ways to go.

I'm sorry for your loss. It isn't easy to keep going forward on your own. I like to think my husband is seeing it all from where he is
