Be nice to yourself

Try to balance what you have with what you might need. Don't keep waiting for the perfect moment, because it might never come. My lifelong friend waited, and now it's too late for her.

Too much of our lives are spent in trying to acquire, make money, afford housing and food and the middle-life needs. Too much time is spent trying to please others (spouses, parents, children, bosses).

With the knowledge that our lives are winding down - sometimes very quickly and sometimes not very nicely, it is good to accept the little gifts and pleasures. No need to go for the big splashy shit anymore!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
