Anyone else ever use the zvox sound bar?

Last edited Wed Jul 24, 2024, 12:28 PM - Edit history (1)

Years back I bought a zvox it lasted pretty long time. I bought another and it’s still going. But I’ve thought about getting a different brand. I have hearing problems and don’t wear my hearing aids all the time. The bar I have does good lowering background music and other noises allowing me to hear the dialogue better. It also does things like keeping the sound level even during ads. I know they aren’t supposed to increase the volume during them but they do push it.

Anyways anyone else using something similar and what do you think about it?

I wear hearing aids. What is a zbar? I tried a search but didn’t have much success. Thanks.

It has settings where you can lower the amount of background noise, music, etc.. But brings out the voices. Kind of like when you’re in a busy restaurant and all the other people speaking or music going you can’t quite make out the conversation of people you’re talking to. If they dropped the music volume and a lot of the people stopped talking. Also it helps keep the volume even when they go to a commercial or when a show might raise the volume for the effect.

Before my wife passed away she would gripe about the volume. After I got it I could lower the volume and still hear the voices. She appreciated it.

It’s not perfect but helps. It has a lot of combinations to try to match it to your hearing. One button may have 3 levels another may have 5. Not by my tv right now but think there’s 4-5 buttons that control different levels so it’s got a lot of variations.

As normal with some hard of hearing I may have a hard time making out whether someone said lake or like. This seems to help.

Allow you to lower background noise and music? I don’t know what’s available in the Vizio sound bars? The zbar seems to block out most of the sound above and below normal speaking range. That was one of the selling points I was originally looking for?

I don’t know what else is out there. I’m sure there are some. The no more blaring ads was a nice addition. It does take awhile to get set. You adjust one button on it and it can affect something you set earlier. Also you do need to listen for awhile after changing settings to make sure it’s good. But once it’s set you’re good to go.
