I want to take back my comments on an earlier post in this forum

A couple of weeks ago, DU member GP6971 was asking about anyone's experiences with Wreaths Across America.
See -- democraticunderground.com/117911848
Without really having any experience to relate, I nonetheless proceeded to announce my opinions, which were negative.
But, as of today, I HAVE had some experience with Wreaths Across America, and I owe both GP6971 and Wreaths Across America my humblest apologies.
I was invited to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at an historic African American cemetery in Clarksville, Tennessee. I've worked with, and been a member of, the organization that has been revitalizing that cemetery, which is the resting place for at least 33 veterans, most of whom were US Colored Troops of the Civil War. The cemetery had served the local black community from 1817-1958.
In the South, it seems that the graves of black veterans, particularly US Colored Troops of the Civil War, were not treated with any form of respect for many years. In fact, many African American cemeteries were allowed to fall into a state of neglect, some falling victim to vandalism.
I was proud to participate in paying honor to those veterans today. And the organization of Wreaths Across America started that annual tradition.

Now, go to your post where you want the link to appear

Click on the little chain links icon above the text field in your post or reply.

A small text box will appear. Right click and PASTE the link you copied from the page you want to link to, into the new little text box.

Then Click OK

To close off the link info, click on the little chain link icon again

Seems sorta complicated, but after a couple of times, you'll get the hang of it.

keyboard click "control + c" (at the same time),
then in your post here click "control + v" on the keyboard to paste

(you can also accomplish the same with the mouse, but I cant remember how to explain it,
but right-clicks and selecting from a menu seem accurate)

I hope that's right--- I've been doing it so long that my fingers are disconnected from my brain, lol

If you're not on a desktop I have no clue, you're on your own there.
I don't post here or much anywhere else without being on the Desktop.
On my Smartphone, I am only recently learning how to navigate from one web-page to another,
without canceling them! lol

Lived in Nashville for many years, then retired to a tiny town (pop. 300) between Clarksville and Dover. Great fishing, little traffic.

4. It looks like we had a good turnout at JBLM's Camp Lewis Cemetery.

JBLM is Joint Base Lewis McChord in WA state.

I drove by thinking not many would be there due to the cold, pouring rain, but all the parking areas were full.

So overall, it looks like it was a success.
