My eyes are open, I thought I was the victim, I played Yahtzee, phase 10, with vets, who lost legs, arms.
And they will live,
Jeff, Mitch, Ray,
I am ok my camper is moved.
I wish I could house all Vets
But Im just Koz
We , USA , need to take care of those who fought.
Im lucky, Im just Koz

I am so grateful for all the vets that served to keep us safe.

(10,891 posts)Spent about 40 days in a VA hospital, mobile and not restricted, came away with a deepened appreciation of life and an increased awareness of perspective. Survivors helping survivors.

(11,250 posts)You have no idea how many people out here care about you. Seriously.
I will never in my life forget the veterans I met during the years my sweet love battled Agent Orange. Ill never forget the bravery, courage, compassion and determination I witnessed at three different VA hospitals in Vermont and Massachusetts. Young vets helping old vets. Old vets helping young vets. I laughed til I cried and cried til I laughed. Precious memories, all.
Stay as strong as you can, Koz. We have your back.
Heres a hug

(2,924 posts)These posts, as the week I spent in the VA hospital, touched a part of me, I havent visited in a while, probably because I was too wrapped up in my life, and feeling like a victim.
Your replies and my VA experience, brought back empathy in me.
From LilBit , to the DU family, who helped us, all the way to the VA staff.
Have reminded me, I only have LilBit and you guys, cuz I loved. And Ive spent the better part of 2 years, being angry at my situations.
Its time to love again.
