(17,493 posts)support RKBA. In some of the more liberal areas of the state such as Broward County gun control advocates are more popular.
Over one million Florida residents have Concealed Weapons Permits. Hunting is also quite popular in the state. A good number of feral hog hunters own and use AR-15 rifles. I live in Florida and when I lived in the Tampa Bay Area before I retired only a couple of my coworkers didnt own at least one firearm. I worked in a technical field so most of the people I worked with had a college degree or training from a vocation/technical school. Now I live in a more rural area and almost all the people I know are gun owners.
Its hard to say how much impact Hogg and other high school will have on future elections in Florida. It may well prove to be an uphill battle.

Jack's book exposed the nra as the right wing claptrap it was back then, with donations to congress people like wayne lapierre-head, and most all of his views haven't really changed that much in 20 years.
Here's a friendly review. Most others it seems are from rabid right wing attack dogs, some of whom no doubt were sicced upon jack by the n-r-a = in good part Nutty Rightwingers Armed
I believe in 95% of the information and numerous sources that Mr. Anderson uses to make his case, which is this - the NRA is consolidating and perhaps increasing its political power in Washington D.C. but it is RAPIDLY losing the confidence of the general public.
Mr. Anderson has an objective view toward sensible gun legislation. He does not advocate registration, or confiscation, or any other ultra-radical anti-gun stance. However, he does expose the NRA for what they appear to be - ultra-conservative, ultra-right radicals, who are unwilling to compromise on, or even suggest sensible gun legislation and/or safety measures that would benefit the average citizen, without comprimising their rights, constitutional or otherwise.
