SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KSPR) -- Missouri voters will not get to vote on legalizing medical marijuana. The state announced Tuesday it's not allowing the issue on the ballot.
The group that's been working for months to get medical marijuana on the ballot was just told, it can't.

The Secretary of State announced it's not putting the issue on the ballot because there weren't enough valid petition signatures in enough districts in the state.
The state is broken up into eight districts. In order to get a petition on the ballot, you need enough verified signatures in at least six. The medical marijuana petition only got enough signatures in five of them. New approach is blaming the shortfall on the county clerk the St. Louis area for not having enough.
