I never saw it or anything like it and never heard talk like this until I had a progressive teacher in the 6th grade who opened my eyes. He played us Joan Baez tapes (this was during the VietNam war time), discussed the difference between communism and socialism and made us write papers about this. He discussed concepts like this, but clips like this weren't available and movies/cllips were only shown in science classes.

History in college and don't even recall learning about the Peasants Revolt. This looks like a good film, 1969 with a young Anthony Hopkins.

In college there were 1 or 2 younger history professors who introduced newer 'art and social history' elements by including discussion, biography and slide/images of 16th- 18th c. paintings of royals and leaders, and relevant European artwork and architecture.

Most of the college teaching staff were old school and out of date instructors who arrived with a prepared script/lecture they'd used for years. That was the class. Q & A, discussion and interaction with students was basically non existent.

Films weren't shown in any of my HS or college classes in the US and England in the late 70s, early 80s. It would have been enriching. Slides were used in Art History classes of course.

The technology for film then was reel to reel tapes which few schools had access to I'm sure.

> In one HS English class, I did a report that featured John Lennons' song 'Working Class Hero' which I played on my own record player. The teacher who was bright, younger and cool liked that a lot.
