Her clothing, hair styles and the image itself implies some degree of fiscal comfort.
Doing the maths, she would have been 55 when the Nazis marched in to the Sudentenland, in March 1939.
She went from Theresienstad, the ghetto/camp that the Nazis showed to the RedCross to say, ' see it's not bad'. That camp was where intellectuals, artists were held. Then, somehow, she was sent via cattle cars to Auschwitz.
She was murdered at 60, younger then I am today, and she looks like my mother.
