I was 6 and of course it was all over the news. At that time (6 years old) 300 miles meant they were kind of our neighbors. As all the news came out and stayed out for too long, for me, I just was scared to do much of anything. I think my parents learned that 6 was too young to hear this stuff because 6 was old enough to figure it all out. Even after I was told that they were dead by hanging I was horrified. It still comes to mind when I am alone and hear things.
