Wesley Clark - facts you may not have known about the man who beat Serbia.

Today marks the ( twentieth) anniversary of the NATO bombing of Serbia that stopped the war in Kosovo. When this date is remembered, the name of General Wesley Clark, the man who led the NATO operation against the Serbian forces, is undoubtedly remembered.

Clark is one of the most deserving personalities for the decision for the North Atlantic Alliance to intervene to save the Albanians of Kosovo from the ethnic cleansing that was being carried out by Serbia, reports Reporteri.net. . .

Clark won a scholarship to the University of Oxford in England, where in 1968 he earned a master's degree in philosophy, politics and economics. He volunteered for the Vietnam War where he earned several decorations. While others returned home disillusioned with the war, Clark was basking in his successes, rising through the ranks of the military at an incredible speed that culminated in four stars on his shoulders and the command of NATO.

Clark was also a soldier-diplomat who helped negotiate peace in Bosnia during the Dayton conference where he was praised for his negotiating skills. Those skills were on display again in the run-up to the bombing campaign against Milosevic's Serbian troops. In an important meeting at Milosevic's White Palace headquarters in Belgrade, Clark methodically wore down the Serbian forces, repeatedly cajoling him to downplay the size of his ground forces, denying any wrongdoing with photographic evidence.'>>>
