(7,716 posts)Walked into my daughter's house for the first time in over a year.
Got two new dogs, both rescues, tiny yappy things.
Jack Russell, older female, young male.
Male looks at me and goes . . . how nice, a visitor! Then wanders off.
Female goes . . . oh hello, I trust you, can I jump on your lap and let you rub my belly?
Instant acceptance, instant trust.
Some people are more like . . . don't trust you, prove I can trust you!
And when you do try, it is never enough. It just wears you out. (But divorce can solve that nicely.)
(Can't see the picture either, but I'm sure it was nice.)

(40,035 posts)But I can describe it. Its a b&w photo of a dog with a wistful expression on his face, with these words to the left side of the image:
I know Im just a dog,
But if you feel sad, Ill be your smile.
If you cry,
Ill be your comfort.
And if someone breaks your heart,
We can use mine to live.
Ill always be
By your side.
