My kidcats might just have proof that I've gone completely loopy

I had an extremely active day, yesterday, deep cleaning the den, pulling a lot of garlic while still deeply grieving the loss of sweet Tegwen. I had been fueled by a cup off coffee and a glass of beer. Probably not smart but I had zero appetite. I went to bed very early, turned on an 'American Greed' marathon and fell asleep by at about 8.

Gryff woke me up. I glanced at the clock and my brain read 6:15. Yikes! 'American Greed' was still on, which kind of surprised me. Oh well, it was time to feed the kidcats. I jumped out of bed, grabbed the food, dished it out, all the while being observed by 5 very confused fur babies.

For some reason I was still very tired so I thought, what the heck. It's Sunday so I'll go back to bed for a while. Then I looked at the clock again and it was 9:30 PM which meant I had slept for only 1 hour! That explains why I still felt so tired AND why the kidcats were staring at me. I turned off the television and did manage to fall back to sleep until about 4. I triple checked the clock to make sure.

3. My only outdoor chore for today will be mowing the lawn and spreading some flea killer close to the house

This morning I am going to make an actual breakfast. I think I might have a yellow squash ready for picking so that an a recently picked zucchini should inspired me to make an afternoon meal.

I've gotten most of the really robust garlic pulled but will take a stroll to see if I can find some more. I want to get it bundled and ready for curing.

Weeding can wait until we get rain.

The kidcats say 'Meow Morning!'

excited for you about the garlic. Can't even order the starters until August here. I used to love the Gilroy Garlic Festival, but I see that it has turned into something completely dufferent, another victim of covid!

Anyway, snuggle with the babies, and have a peaceful, restful day.

8. I have a riding mower.

I do use the push mower from some trim work. Sometimes. Today I might just pull out the weed wacker. And I'm just going to mow the house lawn. The back lot, which is probably a little bigger and with no structure, can wait another day or so. And then I might mow the front half, just for the aesthetics. The grass height in the back isn't that easy to discern from the street.

because they will be forgiving and grateful for the slip up, no matter how confused. They don't judge us like people do.

I pulled something similar years ago, but in a human setting that was quite embarassing.

I had a second job, part time evenings and Saturday mornings. I had just started a med that combined an antihistamine with a decongestant. It was early autumn, when the morning sky looked a lot like the evening sky.

I had Friday night off and fell asleep around 6 pm from the effects of the med. When I woke up, my clock said 8:00. The sky had a pink dawn glow. OMG! I had slept through the night and was due at work for Saturday morning.

I rushed into work and saw co-workers doing tasks that I was normally assigned to. I apologized for not being there sooner and said that I would take over. One of them said, "Don't you have Friday nights off?" I said yes, but did not go anywhere Friday because my new med made me tired and I must have slept right through.

Another one said, "But it's Friday. What are you talking about?"

I was totally confused. They finally made me realize that it was Friday evening, just after 8 pm, not Saturday morning at 8 am.

One of them said she wanted whatever I was taking. They never let me live it down.

So, as the spacy Luna Lovegood says in a Harry Potter book/film, "Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am."

4. People easily got AM and PM mixed up in the Winter and Summer when I was stationed in Iceland
Sun Jul 7, 2024, 05:17 AM
Jul 2024

Pretty much 24 hour daylight or darkness during Summer/Winter so clocks that didn't indicate am or pm were a curse, especially during the weekends. People would come rushing to the clinic thinking it was 8am Monday when it was actually 8pm Sunday.

We used to have midnight soft ball games.
