In the midst of my sorrow, Martini makes me laugh

She's on my lap and keeps licking my nose; no matter which way I turn, she keeps licking. And purring.

She is a great comfort to me. I don’t know what I would be without her; probably an even bigger mess than I am now.

They seem to know when you need cheering up, so they move in on you and won't leave you alone until they think you feel better.

One of my first kitties used to hug me if I were sad or upset. She would put one paw on each side of my neck, and nuzzle me. It was the most adorable thing!
