Anyone know about pussywillows? A mystical plant... And my

sister sent me a grafted tree (from Canada to TX) just out of the blue because she knows I have always loved them. Reminds me of the northeast in spring.

Directions say don't plant til after frost danger.

But the blooms look crazy to me. Like a fail??? Have never seen irratic
blooms like this...

Though that's probably not what you were after.

Thanks for spurring a memory, however.

Pussy willows have lovely little fluffy tufts at the beginning of spring. After that, they just get green leaves.
I have always loved seeing the spring bloom. The rest of the year they are unimpressive.
Had some in my backyard that I brought from my mother’s house after she died.

but had them @ home in a special vase when I was a kid, so recently replaced them in that same vase to remember my parents in our first home (Brooklyn apartment.)

My parents grew up in Hartford and then moved to suburbs - 9 miles away. My mom actually thought there'd be bears there.

I have always been attracted to cities for some reason. And Brooklyn just seems so romantic to me.

Pussy willows grow wild in spring near water.

Remember playing in 'yard' between high-rise apartment buildings; our apartment was on 2d floor.

Moved to Long Island after my mother died, but do still have memories and vase (for pussy willows.)

(My adopted mother was born in Bridgeport.)

Am a combo-person, I guess, as Dad's office was in Manhattan; we visited 'the city' often, including with high school classmates.

Am now in a DC 'exurb;' no bears here, some foxes (occasionally.)

Sorry you lost your mom so young.

.. The warmth and light in the house has caused it to prematurely blossom.

Makes so much sense now that the ones you see cut are cut at prime time before blossoming. Because the buds are all uniform furry little balls.

I have enjoyed everyday since the 20th.

The insurrection was the last straw for many. Fux Youz is failing. Prison time. For everyone but trump. That’s what Mr Lake says.

From the funky big fur balls!

Yes, it's a great time for political junkies! And Dipshit went from having the biggest megaphone in history to yelling at Melania and bragging and cheating on his golf course with rich buddies.
