I didn't get my bulbs planted before the snow!

I have a sheltered porch that can keep them at around freezing or I can keep them against a cold wall in the house - about 50-60 degrees.

Do I plant them during a thaw, wait until Spring, or give up completely?

I should mention - our ground rarely freezes here because we get heavy snow cover before it freezes or else we're in a thaw.

I think you can plant them during a thaw and they'll be fine. Arkansas Granny Jan 2013 #4

you can plant them and they will bloom, I do that all the time. And I did it again this yearh, cough cough. But we are having a thaw now, so I may just put them in tomorrow.

If they have not been exposed tot he cold, put the bulbs in the fridge for 6 weeks.

I've never had success wintering over bulbs above ground.

Do you have any flowerpots that can withstand being out in the weather?

The big deal about fall planting is so you get them in before the ground freezes.

you can always pot them in planters and then pot them in the ground next year.

They will probably do well. But if you are too late getting them in the ground, they will still grow, they just may not bloom this year, but they will still be alive and well.
