And, of course, envying you a "winter crop." We just had out first frost warning here (about 25 days early!!), so the only gardening I have left is bringing in the rosemary and Cuban Basil and cleaning eleventy-gillion pots before they get stored away.

(63,196 posts)It's still in it's pot but I hope to put it in the ground next month after my next insane project.
I don't know what kind of space you have for gardening, but have you thought about "cold frame" gardening? It's a bit of work but you can get some good winter veggies that way.
Cheers and thanks for reading my blog.

(9,992 posts)It's one of those things I've always heard about but never seen (or I didn't realize i was seeing it.)
As for cold frames, I do most of my gardening in containers. There is a space on the property that once was an in-ground veggie garden, but it needs to be clear cut, thoroughly tilled, covered in weed fabric and allowed to bake for a whole season to kill off all the monster weeds in there. Also, there's some Jerusalem artichoke that someone once planted and that stuff is MURDER to get rid of, so I haven't been up for tackling it. Maybe someday...
