Need some advice about filling in where our pond was.

We finally got rid of our pond. It was one of those plastic ones. The hole is roughly 4' x 6' and a couple feet deep. What's the cheapest way to fill it in?

All the grass clippings, soon to fallen leaves, veg scraps ? Over time it will be ripe for a flower bed or herb garden …

It's nowhere near a garage or anything to provide runoff water.
