First pumpkin out of our patch!

I forgot to post a photo yesterday

This is a huge one! I'm so happy with it. We have a few others almost ready to cut from the vine!

And eat them! But I have no idea how to make pie out of a pumpkin outside of canned pumpkin

Yet I love pumpkin pie and yes roasted pumpkin seeds.

Making pumpkin pie is a big deal.

Clean the pumpkin out. Eat the seeds.

Slice it and roast it in the oven. Cool it.

Remove the outer skin.

Slow roast the pulp some more until thick.

Make the pie

It's worth it.

Making it with a real "pie pumpkin" is less effort.
