What's for Dinner, Thurs., April 16, 2026

Cold sliced chicken breast with various sauces: Pesto-cream, BBQ, and orange sauce.

Later tonight, when it cools off, a copycat recipe for Gardetto's rye crisps. I have a loaf of pumpernickel rye, but the recipe wanted day-old bagel chips which I could not find. I already tried a sample of them and the bread works fine if sliced thinly.

It's an easy recipe: just onion powder, olive oil, garlic salt, seasoned salt. I'll use the air fryer, of course.

They will be good with cold, sliced cucumbers in sour cream with red onion.

Cold kombucha, plain.

Cold honeydew melon for dessert; iced Earl Grey tea with lavender.

p.s. forgot to mention it's 90 in NJ.

that I went right back to the store to get more.
There was a small crowd at that spot in the store (4 people). Everyone was trying to buy it but they were out. I had to wait to get to the shelf.

I was so disappointed, but as luck would have it, I saw a clerk putting things away so I looked in their cart and there was one in there!! I did get the one extra and I later checked out buying it at other stores online. Whole Foods has it and so does ShopRite. WF has more variety and the better price by a dollar!

Where do you get it? I used to order it from Revolution on their website but they changed hands and it's not the same. While grocery shopping, I saw Stash has a Breakfast in Paris tea, which is black tea, bergamot, lavender and vanilla extract. Since Earl Grey Lavender is black tea with bergamot and lavender, I thought I'd try the Breakfast in Paris, but it has too much vanilla in it. I'd sure like to find another Earl Grey Lavender that I like.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. You must be a gourmet cook; your dishes sound so fancy and delicious!
