Pressure cooker

Reliable until recently. The smaller 6.5-quart variety. Not Insta-Pot.

It isn't building up steam the way it used to. The button in the handle goes up, but the rocker part doesn't "rock". It just lays there. I'm losing liquid via the steam lost.

Is it time to replace the rubber gasket inside the lid?

certainly won't hurt anything. check for dings, dents, irregularities on pan and lid edges

Put the gasket in your freezer for 30 minutes ...then put the seal on the cooker and close the top.
That's what they say...?

If you can feel steam or air-flow, the gasket is probably kaput.

Also, make sure the hole the weight rests on isn't plugged.
