Mental Health Support
Related: About this forumI think I learned a lot from this week's fiasco.
Never judge, just be supportive.
Never allow anyone to express bigotry or hatred to yourself or anyone else.
Don't be afraid to be candid about your experiences, the majority of people will understand and be supportive.
Stand up for yourself and everyone else with MI. Educate others.
Don't be afraid.
Activism/advocacy is important.
Be a force for positive change.

(6,581 posts)One of my biggest psychological issues continues to be fear of authority, confrontation, and power. I actually lasted longer in the slugfest over the NRA proposal to create an enemies list than I thought I would. But ultimately I cut and ran. And that has been my MO and a problem for me in real life and cyberspace, because I allow myself to be taken advantage of or abused.
So I'm working on that, trying to grow up and act like a grown man finally at 47.
Also, I don't enjoy being cast as some kind of degenerate, freak, or monster by the ignorant or malicious. I want to follow Tobin's example of being a positive role model and force for positive change.
Could do a hell of a lot worse in this world than emulating Tobin. I know I kinda probably make them blush, but Tobin and HS1628 are my Heroes.
