2. I don't understand why it matters if he knows. He said his action couldn't have caused your pain and other issues.

That doesn't change the fact that you have pain. He should expect that you would seek an answer and relief. I could see it being uncomfortable if he knew you were in contact with an attorney, but not a medical doctor.
