(10,420 posts)You don't have a proper diagnosis yet. It may turn out to be something else. Just keep an open mind.

(10,420 posts)But I doubt they will for you. I think it's more something they do after a diagnosis for research purposes. If you do get a mental illness diagnosis you can participate in such studies later if you wish. I think brain scans for diagnostic purposes are still in experimental stages.
But, basically, your diagnosis will depend on an interview or a series of interviews. I wouldn't let that deter you from getting treatment. They get it right most of the time. The treatment is what matters.

Our bodies are supposed to move!
Walking is good, bicycling is good, swimming is good, dancing is the best!

(23,533 posts)If they do, make them give you different ones.
Bicycling is really good. It is easier on the body than walking or running (especially the feet), and it provides more sensory input because you are moving faster.
Because it makes me feel one hell of a lot better and calmer, every time. And if I have to become addicted to something, that is a lot better choice than, say, crystal meth.
I don't consider this an addiction. I think this is how it is supposed to work.
That has been happening to me, and I'm only half buffed at best (mostly waist-down).
