at the Senior Center Rec room. Doctor told me I'd never run again. He is now long gone and I'm running 3 or 4 days a week. Not setting any records for speed. But, it sure clears my mind and puts me in a good mood. Got my play list on my phone and ear buds plugged in.
All my life I've got this thing about being told I can't do something. Oh yah, watch this.

2. Interesting advice. I would strongly advise adding: ALWAYS bring a cell phone, wear something bright...

let someone know you're going running. Don't have your music blaring so loud in your ears that you can't hear traffic around you. Consider taking added potassium to stave off cramping leg muscles...

I know of several runners that fell and had no way to contact anyone; another that got whacked by an inattentive driver at dusk...
Also, here in New England winters, there is no shame just running on a treadmill during slippery conditions outside.

Stay safe.

3. I'm a geezer and ran/jogged most of my life. Not to long and at my peak I could go about 5-7 miles..

In my neighborhood there is a perfect 1 mile route from door to door. I have shallow hills so what I do is walk up the elevations and jog down the hill. Nothing too high or low, mostly flat.
The whole time I can still talk (to my self, we have great conversations) so I'm not out of breath. I do this about 5-6 times a week.
When it's too hot (i'm in Fla) I go to the gym and use the bike..
I've been doing this for years... Works for me..
