In-the-canal type. Better than the behind-the-ear style from Costco (Rexton)
Eargos retail for a $1000 more.
No Bluetooth, so it cannot take calls from the phone or stream music. But the sound quality is a lot better. There's less interference, less static, and it filters noise better.
For what its worth, BTW ...

(31,905 posts)$3000 is still a lot of money (Eargo). Dont know if Ill be able to or want to replace them when they eventually die. 4-5 years from now the tech could be different and better too.

(11,515 posts)Caught them on sale last year. They've made a vast improvement in my hearing. I now wonder why I waited so long. Like you, the only thing I wish they had was that Bluetooth connection. I listen to podcasts when I walk and stream movies on my laptop. Would be far more convenient to have the Bluetooth built in instead of switching to my AirPods.
But overall? The sound quality is very good and once I have them in, I forget I'm wearing them. Until I take them out, that is. Then it's like an instant power down. LOL.
Hope you continue to be happy with the appliances. I've been using mine since early December. So far:
