I think CNN must offshore its closed captioning

It's obviously the work of non-English speaking dislexics. What hearing I have left is somewhat surreal, but nothing like what CC produces.

I suspect that it's done in real time by voice-recognition software. CC for scripted shows can be done ahead of time.

I've noticed misspelled words a lot on regular TV programing and TV movies.
I thought maybe someone couldn't type as fast as the people were speaking.

with a continuing column called "Comments from a CART operator" where they talk about being a captioner.
