I think I love steroids now.

I had a cortisone shot in my left ankle joint on Tuesday. Maybe it's just the local anaesthetic that lasts a few days, but I am suffering less pain than I have in 2.5 years. I feel like one of those people who get a "miracle" cure in church and throw away their crutches. (OK, I can't really throw away my cane, but the relief is so great). I still have the burning pain and other pain from my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome 2, but the pain from the "moderately severe", traumatic arthritis in my ankle and the "massive" soft tissue damage, is markedly lessened.

It's great. I really, really hope it lasts a couple of months.

I'm not pain free, but it has loosened the grip.

Years ago I had a cortisone shot in each shoulder to relieve excruciating, debilitating RA pain. After, Doc said to go home and ice the injection sites to avoid reaction to the shots, which I did. Holy smoke!! Pain totally gone in my shoulders, almost instantaneously.

means that i have a damaged nerve in my neck, then the far end of that nerve started getting squeezed by carpal tunnel.

this being me, this only gets sorted out after it goes insane.
got a shot in the neck in feb, and got one in the wrist yesterday.
miracle shit.

got a twisted up shoulder, so nothing is gonna get completely happy here.
but they said that if i got relief from the shot, i would likely get relief from surgery. i'd still have a parasthesia in my finger, but at least it would stop lighting up my whole damn arm.

rear guard actions, tho, i tell ya.

a shot in the wrist and months and months of agony go POOOOOOOF!!!

still think we need to track down the other "crush" of this double crush, but at least we have proof that i am not nuts.
and that surgery would be very helpful.

yeah for evidence based medicine!!

the little twerp wants me to wait to get surgery because it just MIGHT be a cure.
sure, a 60 woman with a 6 year old problem is a real good candidate for a miracle cure.
and in the meantime, the small window i had to get this done before things got busy is closed. i dont want the little shit near me, even if he gets over himself.
now i have to try to get in with a new doc. or something. sheesh.
