"Not benign"

My sister keeps telling me the mole on my 20- something nieces back is not benign. I said did they say cancer? I've had melanoma.

Has anyone ever heard skin cancer called not benign?

Understandable by amateurs, NOT, imo, by medical professionals.

Is an idiot. She thinks saying things aloud bring it to reality. This sound like melanoma to me

I would talk to her directly, her mother seems to be struggling with coping.

So technically a tumor can simultaneously be not benign and not cancerous.

There are other more common types of skin cancers besides melanoma that are far less serious and easily curable, squamous cell cancer is just one example.

My niece is not at home. My sister was not at the drs with her. Thanks God my niece has ACA.

My niece is saying its not benign. My sister is irritated she doesn't push for more info. She's in nursing school. Unbelievable.
