Addiction & Recovery
Related: About this forumI have a multi year stack of Grapevines{AA magazine} Anyone interested in some?
If so PM me, I'll mail a few random ones. The biggest part of the stack will be going to the local community mental health center to pass around there.

(14,627 posts)1. Give them to jails and prisons - they love the Grapevine in prisons because of the stories. There's usually a contact employee in prisons that coordinate AA and NA meetings that they could be shipped to.
2. Give them to newcomers to read.
3. Give them to treatment centers, particularly the in-patient centers.
Just some suggestions from an old ODAT fart, LOL

(225,549 posts)I know that she collects old ones, but I think KY_EnviroGuy's suggestion is much better. We've been told that those currently in the local jails - where we do offer meetings - are desperate for more to read, and we've been asked to provide AA literature. The Grapevines sound like they'd be perfect since they really are entertaining stories - but with an AA message. I don't know where you are, but they'd probably appreciate them in your area too...

(21,722 posts)I recently spoke at a lockdown facility and they are desperate for literature. I actually spoke to a few newcomers and also those with multiple years sobriety. They told me they are desperate for literature. Your central office, possibly national office, will have local contacts to donate to.
Also, its routine in my area to offer old Grapevines at meetings. You can take them home to read then bring them back. Ive taken them traveling

(34,493 posts)Half went to the local mental health center, which offers several meetings & recovery groups, I will be dropping off the rest at central office or some meetings.
There are a few that I have written on and over. Those I'll keep.
