The Miracle Club on Netflix

We watched this movie on Netflix last night. It's only about 90 minutes long. Great cast and heart warming story. I would recommend it if you have the time. The film stars Laura Linney, Kathy Bates, Maggie Smith, and Stephen Rea. Its plot follows a group of working-class women from Dublin on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France.

Just wondering if Maggie Smith had a stroke. She seemed to have trouble delivering her lines at times.

One of my cousins mentioned how much it reminded her of our grandmother, grand-aunts, and our mothers....even though we are so may generations removed.

(I also liked the scene at the gift shop in Lourdes. I have a friend who found herself there years ago (not part of a pilgrimage) and said it has to have the tackiest souvenirs she's ever seen.)

Somewhat disappointing, but that was due to the writing, not the fault of three wonderful women in the cast.

I enjoyed it, but the writing was pretty weak. It could have been so much better.
