Ladies it is time to start the Emily Pankhurst rant

Every election year I do the same thing, I find as many young women as possible and talk to them about how first wave feminists fought to give them the right to vote. How 100 years later if they do not vote, it somewhat negates the fact that the emancipation movement starved themselves and died to ensure we could vote. This year, more than any other election, we the second and third wave feminists need to be having that conversation with every young woman we know and meet every day until election day. Those young women who do not understand, and granted, many do, how their reproductive rights are at real risk in this election need to be educated on this. We need to talk to these young women as much as we can about how they can effect change. They will be the fourth wave; we already see them forming.

"If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let you vote." I piped up and said, "Then be grateful you live now and not 100 years ago when women weren't allowed to vote." Later her mother came up to me and said, "I sure hope what you said gets through her thick skull!"
