J.K. Rowling Misgenders Female Boxer Amid Olympics Controversy
The "Harry Potter" author repeatedly referred to Algerian boxer Imane Khelif as a man, stubbornly ignoring the fact the athlete is a cis woman.

Author and outspoken critic of the transgender community J.K. Rowling slammed the Olympics after womens boxer Imane Khelif defeated Italys Angela Carini in a fight Thursday.
The creator of Harry Potter turned to X, formerly Twitter, to complain about the boxing match, which saw Algerias Khelif lay into Carini for 46 seconds before the Italian boxer quit the bout.
In her post, Rowling repeatedly misgendered Khelif, who is a cisgender woman disqualified from the 2023 womens world championships after officials claimed an unspecified gender eligibility test showed the athlete had a Y chromosome and elevated levels of testosterone.
Khelif previously competed in the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo in the womens division without fanfare.

It's hard to think of anyone who has utterly disappointed and disgusted more people with her statements and beliefs than Rowling.

He tried to defend her and it was a big fail. He then added some of his own views on the subject and that was a double fail. What a mess. I put a lot of the blame on the Murdoch syndicate because they've created so much hatred and bigotry. Mainstreamed it really.
