North Carolina county may be days without power after targeted attack[...]Between the lines: The power went out during a drag show in downtown Southern Pines that attracted a significant amount of protesters and police presence.
The show ended early because of the power outages, The Pilot reported.
One of the leading protesters, Emily Grace Rainey, claimed on social media that sheriff's deputies questioned her about the outages after she posted that she knew why it had occurred, WRAL reported Sunday morning.
"I told them that God works in mysterious ways and is responsible for the outage," Rainey, who rose to local prominence protesting COVID-19 restrictions, wrote on Facebook. "I used the opportunity to tell them about the immoral drag show and the blasphemies screamed by its supporters."

The police there say they interviewed this "young woman" and after 'praying with her' decided that this is nothing.

(15,888 posts)Moore County Congressman Richard Hudson said the FBI is involved in the case. Attempts to reach agency officials for comment had been unsuccessful early Sunday afternoon.
During a news conference Sunday, Sheriff Ronnie Fields said the shootings were unlike anything he had encountered in his four-decade career in law enforcement. They were targeted attacks, he said, carried out by an individual or individuals who knew exactly what they were doing.
No suspects have been named in the shootings, and investigators have yet to announce a potential motive.
State Sen. Tom McInnis, whose district includes Moore County, called the shootings an intentional, willful and malicious act. Wayne Vest, manager of Moore County, said the attacks were unprecedented.

(15,888 posts)[...]Explosions were heard throughout Carthage, NC around 9:42pm. At 10:30pm, law enforcement began swarming around gun stores and a local Walmart after reports of "looting." Unclear how many guns or gun stores were robbed.
[...]Extremists around the country began celebrating and endorsing the attack on power substations as it resulted in the cancellation of the drag event. Regardless of the motivations of the perpetrators, this is how it was being perceived by extremists.

[...]In the days leading up to the event, organizers of the drag event received death threats but vowed to continue on regardless. Proud Boys and other extremist groups threatened to protest and disrupt the event. fayobserver.com/story/news/202

(6,017 posts)Looks like Emily Grace Rainey led a sizeable group to DC on 1/6 and then there's this...
"Rainey, 30, is attached to 4th Psychological Operations Group at Fort Bragg, according to Maj. Daniel Lessard, a spokesman for 1st Special Forces Command."

(2,809 posts)The simpleton's playbook: couldn't (moreover too dam lazy) to achieve in school? God forgives. No likey a group of "other?" Cherry pick a biblical condemnation. Start a murderous riot? God empowered. Elect an absolutely atrocious creep into the highest office? God ordained.
Then some churches wonder why their pews are empty of so many other than touched clowns.
