A British man has been given a four-figure payment by the owners of P&O Cruises after a cruise worker quizzed him about his sexuality.
Lewis Meehan, 27, is a nightclub manager from Nottingham, England. He filmed the encounter and shared the video with The Nottingham Post.
A soccer fan, after watching his team win a match on TV, Meehan returned to his cabin and decided to order a pizza in the early hours of January 23.
A crew member delivered the pizza. Meehan was wearing just boxer shorts when he answered the cabin door. He said he was bemused when the male crew worker complimented him on having a nice body.

(19,320 posts)Good on the guy getting the pay for this horrid behavior. Im gay and would never expect questions from workers like that in any industry. Its not tinder. Its a professional situation.

I think right there, I would have simply said, "Nope. Just want my pizza. Bye."

(8,387 posts)Maybe he is from some repressive country and had a genuine curiosity about things which, in his life, one was not allowed to discuss with other people.
Maybe this job is the first time in his life he is regularly exposed to people from other cultures where sexuality issues can be discussed openly, and he wanted to understand himself better by finding someone he could speak with.
But, nope, this guy had the camera running before the door was opened.
Now he'll be fired for possibly being gay, and have to go back to wherever he came from with that hanging over him.
