Anyone who cheered on the suicide of the only other "known" gay kid in the tiny minded community my parents relocated me to in my youth became accomplices to his murder in my world. Giddy, idiotic, self-righteous goofballs propped up by marginalization tactics like these current laws.
The sincere efforts to either encourage me to commit suicide and direct threats of execution (the term used was honor killing) in brutal ideas...
Still sources of PTSD nightmares for me, 45 years later. Especially when they're still at it.

I've enjoyed his videos for years as "The Redneck You Love to Hate", and I quickly picked up on the fact the character and his rants are pure satire, and he's definitely well to the left on many issues. But this video - out of character, sincere, and from the heart - was absolutely touching and heartwarming. I wish this world had more like him. I hope this gets spread around. I hope an LGBTQ - especially a younger one - who is hurting sees this and hears his kind and loving words.
