I said a while ago that sometimes, I hated people https://www.democraticunderground.com/113756276
It felt good to vent. A Zoom bomber. Then, they caught the guy: 20 year-old student, from an even more a podunk place... WM republican. So, I reported him last week.
Absolutely nothing with my incident report over a week ago.
BUT>>>. Two days later, one of the best members of my group was reported for making a stink about it.
Last week, she had a "hearing" and was told she could not longer be a member. I want to scream and make a mess, but I need the job. Why was the club member punished? It's so ugly, I can't even say half of it.

(1,962 posts)Long story for me, and not one I want to share publicly, but, I get it on watching the bad guys get away with it, while someone who reports or complains get punished. I've seen it, I've lived it, it's absolutely unfair. I don't know how the hell we got to this point, but, so often anymore it feels like the system exists to protect the bad guys, and exists to punish the people hurt by them.
Though, as always, vent away. Venting does feel good, and some of us are indeed listening.
Behind the Aegis
(54,926 posts)When a minority, especially an unpopular one, gets all "uppity" and refuses to "play nicely while be bullied", they are the ones who get the shaft. It is victim blaming/shaming, plain and simple. We dare to speak out, and WE are punished. We call out homophobia, transphobia, anti-Semitism, racism, and WE are the "trouble-makers"! We complain how we are treated and WE are punished for making the bully/bigot "feel bad"!
Hang in there!! Vent away!
