The 9-11 terrorists were in this country long before they went thru with their plans and no one knew or suspected them as they assimilated and became our neighbors. It is not in his interest to do anything while Biden is still President and help Biden take the credit But if my hunch is correct, he has no control over it. So he is bluffing and making it appear as if his threats had anything to do with hostages being released before he takes charge.

It's an old trick: if you know something is about to happen but nobody else does, you can make it appear as if you caused it to happen.

Seems quite possible.
