Ukraine Just Changed the Way Wars Are Won - Professor Gerdes Explains 🇺🇦

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, the numbers seemed overwhelming. Russia had larger reserves, more tanks, more armored vehicles, more artillery, and one of the world's largest air forces. By traditional measures of military power, Ukraine should not have been able to survive.

Yet four years later, the war has transformed military doctrine across the globe.

Today, Ukraine marks its first Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces, recognizing the drone operators and innovators who helped reshape modern warfare. From the world's first FPV drone combat strike to deep attacks more than 1,600 kilometers inside Russia, Ukraine has demonstrated that innovation and adaptability can overcome advantages in size and equipment.

In this video, we examine how drones changed the battlefield, why tanks are no longer the dominant force they once were, how Ukraine is writing military doctrine in real time, and what this means for the future of warfare.
