Kyiv rejects US push to cede territory to Russia - DW News

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Berlin. He will meet with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Zelenskyy will also hold talks with Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Zelenskyy has reportedly said that he is ready to drop Ukraine's NATO membership bid in exchange for what he calls "legally binding" security guarantees from the West. The Ukrainian leader continues to reject Washington's push for Kyiv to cede territory to Russia.

So Zelenskyy wouldn’t, in the long run, be losing too much by “giving in” on that issue.
